Purex Triple Action Review

Photobucket

I started buying a Purex products a couple of years ago.  I was first attracted to the brand when I noticed how much money I could save by purchasing it instead of other leading brands.  So last year when I learned about the Purex Insider program, I just had to become a member!

Purex is rolling out a new Triple Action  formula across the entire liquid detergent line. This new and improved Triple Action formula delivers even better on Purex’s promise to leave your clothes bright, white, and clean, and as always, for half the price of the leading brand!
The detergent is for all types of washing machines including high efficiency.  And it comes in different scents including Moutain Breeze, Lavender Fress, and After the Rain.  And they also have a Free & Clear version if you prefer something without the usual dyes and scents.
I really like this new product. The Moutain Breeze variety has a nice scent, and I love the innovations that are allowing us to use less and less detergent and still have fresh, clean results!
If you love Purex, or if you’ve never tried it and would like to, please come back next week to check a giveaway I’ll be hosting featuring another Purex product and something from Jockey!

Disclosure: I’m a Purex Insider and received free products to review. I was in no other way compensated, and the opinions are my own.

Getting Organized: Spice Racks

Photobucket
A new year is the perfect time to get organized! At the start of the new year, I always like to reorganize my cabinets.  To get started, it helps to have organizers such as kitchen spice racks.

Photobucket

SpiceRackSource  has a variety of spice racks to fit everyone’s diverse organizing styles. I have a “lazy suzie”  style of spice rack like the one above. It holds a lot of spices without taking up a lot of room, and it rotates so that you can easily find everything your looking for without shuffling bottles and jars.

Photobucket

I also love this spice rack with pull out trays for all your spices. And unlike others that I’ve seen of this type, this one also has a pull out tray for measuring spoons and cups! Very convenient.

Photobucket
Finally I wanted to highlight this “ferris wheel” spice rack. I love this one for its rotating feature too, and I think I think it would be a great alternative to the lazy suzie style.

Free Printable Blog Planners and 2012 Calendars

Photobucket

My most popular post in 2011 was my Free Fall Printables post. I really enjoy finding and sharing free printables and look forward to sharing more of these in 2012.  To start the year off,  today I’ve got a collection of printable blog planners and 2012 calendars for you!

If your New Year’s resolution is to get better organized with your blogging, or just to get organized in general, you’ll love these freebies!

As always, the links to the place where you can actually download these can be found beneath the photo.

Let’s start with some Blog Planners!

Photobucket

Last year I got in to the habit of writing my posts in to a monthly calendar, and the other day I printed out this blog organizer from Mommy Words. I hope it will help me to plan posts and plan for other aspects of blogging too!

Photobucket

I also liked the style of this planner from Oh The Lovely Things. It’s stylish and chic, and it gives you a little more room for your notes.

Photobucket

And I think some of you may like this planner from The Peaceful Mom too.  It includes an area called “Purpose,” which is great for those of you who blog on a particular topic from week to week or month to month. And it also has spaces for you to do immediate, short term, and long term planning.
Now for some 2012 Calendars!

Photobucket

I’m always finding great stuff at Tom Kat Studio. I actually printed these, and I put them into my “blogging binder” for the purposes of scheduling my posts.  They’re very simple. (ie – you don’t have to use all  your ink to print them).  And they look good.

Photobucket

And here’s a calendar that’s a little more elaborate from Thankfully Thrifty.  It’s very attractive and would be great for your desk or wall. And I think this design will appeal to a lot of people.

Photobucket

And if you’re looking for something a little more fun and cutesy, you’ll love this 2012 calendar from Anything But Perfect. So far she just has January through May available, but these are totally adorable! I printed out January the other day and posted it on my fridge. I’ll be using it to write in appointments, due dates for bills, and just as a reference for everyday life.
Hope you enjoyed! Don’t forget to leave a comment to thank the site owners if you should go over and download any of these! Happy Organizing!

Greased Lightning Review and Giveaway

Photobucket

At the start of the new year, I always find myself making new year’s resolutions and goals  that have to do with organization and house cleaning (perhaps because the house always seems to be a mess after the holidays).  If you’re still cleaning up after the holiday chaos, or you’ve got some housework resolutions for 2012, consider adding a little Greased Lightning to your list of cleaning supplies!

Greased Lightning has a variety of products to help with all your everday cleaning tasks.  Their products include Antibacterial Kitchen Cleaner, Orange Blast, Bleach Powered, and Multipurpose Cleaner.
I recently received a sample of the Multipurpose Cleaner & Degreaser. The original Greased Lightning formula is time-tested for superior cleaning and stain-fighting power. Greased Lightning conquers the toughest stains and can be used throughout the home.

Suggested uses include:

  • Cut through grime on stove vents, ovens and microwaves.
  • Remove red wine, pet stains and dirt from everyday traffic on carpets.
  • Use as a laundry pretreat for tough stains including grease, grass and ink.
  • Tackle soap scum and mildew stains in the shower.
  • Revitalize patio furniture by removing dirt and outdoor debris.
With so many ways to use this product, there’s no reason why you shouldn’t have it on hand in your home.  Because it has so many uses, this is also a perfect product for someone who’s looking to save money, save space, and simplify in their home this year.
And the product works very well. I remember when I lived at home with my dad, he always used Greased Lightning when he had a tough cleaning job to do.  As for me, I found it to be a great product for cleaning our microwave and stove, and it has a very strong, clean smell.
Giveaway! One Simply Sweet Home reader will receive a bottle Greased Lightning.
To win, please use the Rafflecopter form below.

Favorite Foods of 2011

Looking back over 2011, we had many noteworthy (perhaps even pin-worthy) food posts. Oddly enough, one of my most viewed recipes was my alfredo. It was actually posted in 2010, but since it’s obviously popular, so today I’m featuring it, as I take a look back at some of my favorite food posts from last year!
Hope you enjoy my picks!  Happy New Year! And I hope you’ll join me as we discover more delicious recipes in 2012!
