I just made this charm bracelet a couple of days ago. It’s my favorite thing that I’ve made in a while!

Photobucket
And my husband says that this necklace is his favorite thing that I’ve made.  I only wish I had one of those necklace display things, so I could show it off better. (That’ll definitely be a purchase in the future, but until then, you’ll just have to take my word that it looks really cute on!)

Photobucket
And of course, I had to include some earrings

Photobucket
And another pair of earrings

Photobucket
And these aren’t necessarily a Valentine’s piece. (Although I think they’d be a great gift!)  I previously shared my Encircled Bird Necklace.  And I finally got around to listing the matching earrings.

Photobucket
And then I  just added my Love Bird Flying Free Earrings, which also have a separate, matching necklace

I also relisted a few items that I made last year that would be great Valentine’s:

Survive Cold and Flu Season (Review and Giveaway)

Oscillo by Boiron: visit www.oscillo.com

This week’s review and giveaway is all about nipping the cold and flu season in the bud. Boiron has a great line of homeopathic products to do just this, including Oscillo  (Oscillococcinum) and Chestal.

We recently tried Oscillo product in our household and were very pleased with it.

As the one who always seems to be “out in the elements” my husband gets sick more often than me. And since he has diabetes and other medical issues, we often look for natural and homeopathic products for his ailments.

Oscillococcinum is a product that temporarily relieves flu-like symptoms such as feeling run down, headache, body aches, chills and fever. Oscillo has been used in France for more than 65 years, it is the first flu medicine recommended by pharmacists.

We found it very easy and convenient to use, and we love that it is safe and does not have the side effect that many other cold and flu medications have.

Boiron also makes products for sinus trouble, coughs, and sore throat, and they have a line of children’s products as well.

Children's Chestal by Boiron: visit www.childrenschestal.com

Connect: Visit the Oscillo webpage for more info. Also follow on Twitter and Facebook.

Giveaway: One Simply Sweet Home reader will win their choice of either the Oscillococcinum or Children’s Chestal.

White Chocolate Chip Red Velvet Cookies

Photobucket

In honor of Valentine’s Day coming up in a few weeks, I’ve got a truly sweet and decadent treat to share with you!  This one combines the official colors of Valentine’s Day with its official flavor: Chocolate! And I know you and your true love will adore them!
And to make things even better, this one is another cake mix cookie recipe! I got it from Heather at Whipper Berry. (I just used chocolate chips instead of chunks!) Hope you enjoy!

Photobucket
Recipe for White Chocolate Chip Red Velvet Cookies:

Ingredients:
1 box of Red Velvet Cake Mix
1 cup of All-Purpose Flour
2 sticks of softened butter
1 egg
1 cup of White Chocolate Chips (Heather used 2 cups of chocolate chunks, but for me 1 cup of the chips worked just fine.)
Directions:
In a bowl, stir butter until soft and fluffy. Slowly add cake mix and flour. Once combined, add egg and mix completely. Fold in chocolate chips. Form dough into one inch balls.  Bake at 350 degrees for 8-10 minutes. Makes about 2 dozen cookies.
(For my cookies, I decided to experiment, so I used a single cookie scoop for about half of them.  Then for the rest, I did 2 scoops per cookie, and then flattened them out.  And then I also used a big heart cookie cookie for some)

Get Fashionable (and Trendy) This Spring at The Trendy Boutique

Photobucket

If you’re looking for the perfect Valentine’s gift or looking forward to wearing some new accessories this spring, please consider my sponsor, The Trendy Boutique. They have a super selection of jewelry, watches, handbags, flip flops, and more!

Photobucket
One thing I’d check out if I were you, is their selection of silicone watches. I received one of these in gray, which I reviewed here.  It’s a really good looking watch, and since the color goes with just about anything, I’m wearing it almost every day!

Photobucket
And I’d also recommend their children’s selections.  Since I don’t have a little girl, I never looked at this section of their website till now, but I was really impressed by the bags and hair accessories that I found.

But my favorite thing that I found in the children’s section was their Interchangelable Magnetic Jewelry! Very fun and cute!

Photobucket

And if you’re still dealing with winter weather, you should take a look at their scarves and head wraps. (I love this Houndstooth Tubular!)

My Favorite See’s Chocolates

Photobucket

The other day I mentioned Valentine’s Day to my husband, and I told him that he could surprise me with one or two small gifts, and apart from that I just wanted to order a box of See’s chocolate.
I had a chance to try an assortment of chocolates from See’s a few years ago, and I absolutely fell in love with their candy!  If you read my blog regularly, you know that I love all things sweets, especially chocolate, but I have to say that as far as chocolates go, See’s is a in a class my itself.
In the past when I received a box of chocolates as a gift, I usually ended up throwing half the box away, but when I tried See’s we ate the entire box. (And I have to admit that I’m using the word “we” very loosely, because I think my husband only had a chance to eat two or three pieces.)

Photobucket

And what I love about See’s, apart from the taste of their candies, is that you can order a custom mix! Simply choose the size box you want. (The smallest is one pound, and you can get as much as five pounds.)  And then you can choose up to 10 different chocolates to make up your box.  And not only do you get to choose which chocolates you want, but you can also decide how much you want of each kind.
As far me, I absolutely love milk chocolate and caramel, so when I order my custom mix it will include See’s Milk Chocolate Butter, Milk Butterchew, and their Milk Pattie (all of which feature caramel).
And then I’m also considering adding their Milk Peanut and Milk Bordeaux, as I recall both of those being quite tasty.  And since my husband likes coconut, I’d also have to add a few Milk Cocoanuts to the mix. (I know he’d be happy with that!)
So if you’re shopping for a chocolate lover this Valentine’s Day, or you’re thinking of just sending a box of chocolates to yourself, check out See’s!

Purex and Jockey Review and Giveaway

Photobucket

Today I’ve got a giveaway of not one but two great products!  They are from Purex Crystals and a Tech Terry Performance Sports Bra from Jockey.

Up till now I’d tried Purex detergent, but I had never tried their fabric softener, so I was really intrigued by this product.

Purex Crystals are a fabric softener that is 92% natural, and unlike other oil based fabric softeners, you actually pour it right in with the clothes at the start of the wash cycle.  Not only is it very convenient, but you also don’t have to worry about your favorite clothes getting ruined.

So why do Purex Crystals and the new sports bra from Jockey go hand in hand, you ask?  It’s because ordinarily you should not use fabric softener on performance sportswear because the oils prevent the wicking process, but becuase Purex Crystals do not contain oil, you can safely wash them with your sportswear and anything else you like!

And the Purex Crystals also come in three great scents: Lavender Blossom, Fresh Spring Water, and Tropical Splash.  (I received the Tropical Splash, and it smells wonderful!)

Photobucket
As for the sports bra, I chose the black one, and I was very pleased with the fit, comfort, and quality of it.

It is a moisture-wicking bra that will help keep you cool and dry.  It has a soft bottom band for comfortable support, breathable mesh panels, a convenient key pocket, reflective logo on the back.  It’s definitely a great value, and would be perfect for any workout enthusiest or for someone spend time in the great outdoors!

Get 20% off! If you’d like to get one of these awesome sports bras, Jockey is offering my readers 20% off! Fill out this form to receive your coupon code!

Easiest Peanut Butter Cookies

Photobucket

Today I’ve got one of my easiest desserts recipes to share with you!  I first learned to make these in the sixth grade when I was in the Future Homemakers Club (now known as Family Career and Community Leaders of America or FCCLA)

It became an instant favorite of mine, and I immediate went home and shared it with my family.  And it’s been fave easy-fix recipe of mine ever since! Ordinarily I make these around Christmas, but today with the red sprinkles on white chocolate they are a Valentine’s treat!

Photobucket

Recipe for Easiest Peanut Butter Cookies:

Ingredients:

1 package of crackers (Ritz or Town House)
1 package almond bark
peanut butter
spinkles (optional)

Directions: Spread peanut butter on to crackers and top with another cracker to make a sandwich.    Amount of peanut butter depends on your preference. I like a thick sandwich, so I’ll put a “glob” of peanut butter (or if you’d like a more technical term, I’d say a tablespoon full…more or less).

After you’ve made all your sandwiches, place almond bark in a microwave bowl and microwave in 15 second increments, stirring in between to prevent sticking. Then dip your sandwich cookies one at time. Retrieve them with a spoon, fork, or candy dipper if you have one.

Add the sprinkles immediately after dipping, as the almond bark will harden very quickly.

If you’re almond bark starts to harden in the bowl before you finished dipping the cookies, heat in in the microwave for an additional 15 seconds.

Place in a container on the counter. You can also store these in the refrigerator if you prefer or freeze them for later.

Craft Organizing Ideas

Have you visited Houzz? It’s a place where design experts share off their portfolios in design, decor, and remodels, and it’s a great place for homeowners and design enthusiasts to go look for designers in their area or look for ideas and products for their own interior design.

If you’re thinking of starting a new home decor project, or if you just like looking at other people’s photos and ideas, you can sign up at the site, and add your favorite photos to your own idea book so that you can come back and look at them any time!

They have design ideas for every room in the house as well as the exterior, but I decided to check out their ideas for craft organizing!

I’m always dreaming of new ways to organize and store my jewelry and craft making supplies and Houzz has ideas ranging from the most simple and “shoe string” budget ideas to the more elaborate and pricey.
