I’ve got working on a lot of interesting fall projects, including a Fall Cleaning Series, which I’m happy to kick off today with a little help from Swiffer!

I’ve always loved Swiffer products. We live in a multi-surface floor home, and the variety of Swiffer products available come in handy when it is time to clean house. If you’ve never used Swiffer, I’m sure you are at least familiar with the products featured in their “green box” commercials. I was very excited recently when I received my own Swiffer Green Box!  Today I’m going to show you what came in the #BigGreenBox and demonstrate you the #SwifferEffect in my house!

Inside my green box, I received a Swiffer Sweeper Kit, along with extra pads and wet pads, as well as a Swiffer Duster Kit and extra dusters.  These products make it easier for anyone to keep a clean home.  Whether you rarely clean and have a big mess to tackle, or you like to do daily cleaning in your home, these products will definitely help you get the job done! Salsa Fresca

Today I’m happy to present another Summer Guest Recipe.  Julia from Mini Van Dreams is here with her Salsa Fresca recipe.  With the college football season starting this weekend, it seems rather appropriate to post at this time.  Even if your summer grilling season is over, you can still enjoy this recipe by adding it to your game day menu, or a weeknight Mexican dinner!

My name is Julia, nice to meet you! I am the mom of twins, wife, accountant, scrapbooker, card maker, and self-proclaimed nap sneaker. I blog at Mini Van Dreams where I share easy recipes, craft tutorials, reviews, social good initiatives, and anything else that makes me laugh.

Mini Van Dreams... and dirty dishes.

Before we get started, I want to thank The Hungry Dudes for allowing me to use their photos to replace the ones that were lost when my iPhone met an unfortunate demise in the bathroom at Eldora Speedway.

Today, I am sharing a delicious and easy recipe for salsa fresca, just in time for all the delicious veggies from your garden or the local farmers market! This delicious, fresh salsa is perfect with chips or as a topper for anything – chicken, steak, or fish. It is also delicious as a replacement for salad dressing on your next salad!

Jello University Kit

My family is very excited for football season to be starting!  My husband has already explained to me that the television station will be glued to the SEC Network, so that if I don’t want to watch sports, I can plan accordingly and go to the next room. Haha!  But actually I really enjoy football and I especially love watching our team the Crimson Tide!  And I also look forward each week to game day food!

We usually order out or make something early that will last the day, and game day food is generally “man food.”  We like appetizers, especially chicken fingers and wings! But we also sometimes go for things like meatballs, sausage balls, cocktail weenies, cheesesticks, cheese fries, or chips and dip.  And other times we like simple meals like sub sandwiches, grilled burgers, chili dogs, pizza, and barbecue sandwiches. Yes, we do love to eat!

As much as I love all the salty and spicy goodness of game day, I wouldn’t be me if I didn’t crave something sweet!  So today I am sharing a simple dessert that you can prepare to make your game day even sweeter!  I took my recipe for strawberry pretzel salad and turned it in to a kid-friendly game day treat: Strawberry Pretzel Parfaits.  And I added a little extra team spirit to the treat using Jell-O University Molds! Saving-with-Walgreens-Paperless-Coupons

Coupons are a great way to save money on groceries and essentials for the family, but a lot of people don’t like going through all the trouble involved:  find the coupon, clip the coupon, actually remember to bring the coupon(s) to the store, and then actually remember to get everything you’ve got a coupon for. Phew!  But now  Walgreens is making the couponing experience much easier and stress-free with their new Paperless Coupons.

Today I’m going to show you how you can find and use Walgreens Paperless Coupons, and I’ll show you some of the things I saved money on by using these coupons.  And finally I will show you what I did (or would like to do) with money we save by using these coupons. [Read more…]

Noah Birdwell

Noah started his freshman year of high school nearly two weeks ago.  So far he seems to like it okay.  It is hard to believe he is in high school; I think this is something that sneaks up on parents and most find they aren’t “ready” for it.  When we took him to band camps during the summer, his dad first looked around and said, “It’s so weird to drop off Noah here, and most of these kids actually drove themselves. He’s too young for all this!”  And he’s also remarked, “Wow, some of these kids have facial hair!”  haha.

But aside from the basic anxieties, I think everyone is excited about the school year.  I’m not sure if Noah is excited about all this pre-AP coursework he signed up for, but I know he’s very excited about being in band this year, and he’s look forward to this year’s band trip.

Del Monte Pineapple Cups

With the start of a new school year comes shopping for school lunch and snack items.  If you’re looking for healthy, yet convenient options, Del Monte Fruit Cups and Del Monte Fruit Burst Squeezers make great additions to any lunch box.

I recently picked up a couple of packages of the Del Monte Fruit Cups.  We like the Mandarin Oranges and Pineapples. [Read more…]
