Are you ready for summer?  We’ve got just a week to go, and school’s out here! (So hard to believe!)

In some ways I think of summer as being the season when everything slows down…there is no driving to school; you generally have less school and community activities, etc…but while our kid is spending less time at school and more time at home that also means we have to buy more supplies.  We have to buy extra quick foods and snacks, summer clothes and accessories, and of course, summer health and beauty items.

Luckily Walgreen’s is a one stop shop for health and beauty items and their weekly ads, coupons and Balance Rewards help me to save money on all my summer must-have brands like Listerine, Band-Aid, Neutrogena, and Neosporin. [Read more…]

I love going out, but sometimes there are a lot of road blocks to having a night out:  there’s no time, you’re tired or busy, there’s no money in the budget, etc.  Last month my husband was actually in the hospital, and shortly after his return home, he was diagnosed with neuropathy.  With this, there has been a lot to adjust to, and quite frankly we haven’t really been in the mood to go out.  Luckily the two of us have always been able to have a great time, just hanging out together at home.  As long as we’re together, we can make every night a date night.  One of our favorite activities is watching a little television and having a great meal, and quite often that meal is pizza!  We recently went to Walmart picked up TONY’S® Pizza, and it made a for a delicious meal and fun date night.   [Read more…]

Hello everyone! Happy Friday! And Happy EARLY Mother’s Day to all the moms, grandmas, aunts, kitty and puppy moms…..etc!

Lately I’ve been seeing so many cute home decor items that I’d love to have.  I’ve been wanting a living room makeover for a while, but I just can’t really swing it right now….at least not a makeover as big as I am wanting.  But the next best thing is browsing for ideas online and in stores.  Today I have a few ideas from our bloggy friends; they include some great room decor and some DIY projects. This Sunday is Mother’s Day, a day to celebrate, honor, and remember our mom, grandmother, and other special women in our life.  My mom is a wonderful person.  Here’s a recent picture of the two of us:

She’s always there for us and is willing to help her children and grandchildren any way she can.  She constantly sacrifices her time, money (and occasionally her own sanity) and never asks for anything in return.  This is just one reason that I always like to get her something special for Mother’s Day.

As an Etsy shop owner, I appreciate and am thrilled about every sale that I get, especially right now, which is a slow time for me.  I also know how hard it can be to get your name out their and get advertiser (especially when you’re on a budget).  For this reason, I like to give other Etsy shops and handmade businesses exposure on my blog though low-cost paid advertisements and free features whenever possible.
