Friday Favorites – Week 283 – With Homemade Bread Recipes

This week we’ve had such great weather…..I like to call it “pre-fall.”   We’ve had 80s in the days and 60s at night!  I wish it could stay like this all the time!  But I know it won’t last long……but the great thing about cooler weather is that I get to break out my favorite sweaters, and we get to enjoy yummy fall foods like soups and homemade bread!

Today I have a few bread recipes to features…..these look so yummy!  And they are definitely not your average white and wheat breads!  Check it out! [Read more…]

Snuggle Island Collection + 3 Organization Tips for Clothes

Snuggle Island Collection

A new school year means clothes have to be washed and ready at all times!  And I always like to make sure I send our son off to school looking good and hopefully smelling good.  This fall I’m keeping his clothes clean and fresh with Snuggle!

Snuggle has a new Island Collection that I LOVE! The scent is called Island Hibiscus, and it’s very easy for you to find in store, because of its bright blue bottle featuring lovely island flowers.

The scent is available in three different products:  scent boosters, liquid fabric softener, and dryer sheets.

And when you use the three products together, you will freshen, soften, and control static in your laundry. (The more, the snugglier!)

Apart from keeping things clean and ready to go, I HAVE to have our clothes organized.  Here are three tips I live by:

Tips to Keep Your Teen Organized

For the past few weeks I’ve been sharing ideas for to get mom organized and prepared for the new school year, from meal planning to scheduling activities, time management, and more!  But what about the kids?  Do you have a teen, tween, or preteen who needs a little help in the organizing department?  Do they need a little nudge when it comes to remembering tests, assignments, or other important items for school?

Today I have a few organizational tips that I’ve found helpful as a student and that I’m trying to pass on to our teen son. [Read more…]

Delicious Fall Gifts and Free Kettle Corn

When it comes to gifts, the only thing I can think of that’s better than money or a gift card is food!  I’m proud to partner with Gourmet Gifts.  It is a great go-to place to shop for your favorite foodie, whether they love the savory or the sweet!

Friday Favorites – Week 282 – with Apple Ideas

This week we’ve been lucky to get a lot of rain and slightly more mild temperatures. But it’s still hot! I’m ready for fall!  Today I was shopping at Target, and I found some new limited edition products from Glade.  The scent is called Apple Tree Picnic.  I’ve purchased apple scented products before, but this scent is the best ever.  Our house smells like an orchard! ANYWAY….I always associate apples with fall, and even though we’re not quite in to the season yet, I’ve got apple on the brain!  So today I’m featuring some ideas featuring one of my favorite fruits: the apple! Hope you enjoy!

Bedroom Makeover and Tips for Working with Small Spaces

Don’t you just love a good room makeover? Me too!  And I especially love it when it’s dramatic! And you can make the simplest of changes sometimes and still make a BIG difference.  For me, it’s all about the bedding.  You can add a new floral quilt, and it can dramatically change the look of your room instantly!

My husband and I are in the process of making a lot of changes in the house.  A while back we swapped out the furniture.  Shortly thereafter I purchased new bedding, and last week we moved the furniture to an entirely new room.

Think Beyond the Bedroom for a More Cohesive Refresh

One thing I have learned while making changes around the house is that a room makeover feels even better when the rest of your home starts to “match the mood” too. Even something simple, like noticing how the outside of your home looks as you walk up to it, can influence how you feel once you step into your newly refreshed space. If you have been updating paint colors, swapping out textiles, and leaning into a cleaner, more modern vibe indoors, it can be worth considering whether your siding still fits the overall look you are creating. You do not have to tackle everything at once, but keeping your updates cohesive can make your home feel intentional from the outside in.creating. Here’s the old room:

Old Bedroom

This photo was taken a long time ago, so it’s not my best, but you get the idea….here I had a green bedspread, featuring red flowers.  It seemed very vibrant when I first purchased it but the pattern definitely got old for me and was starting to feel a little old fashioned.

As for the furniture, I’ve always liked this set.  It had a very classic appeal with ornate features, but it’s always nice to have a change!

Planning & Organizing with Post-It

With school back in session, it’s time get your kids organized and ready to start out the year on a good foot, and this means Mom has to stay organized too!  In our household I’m the keeper of the calendar and the books!  If there’s paperwork to keep up with, events and due dates to remember, and bills to be paid, that falls under my jurisdiction!  I actually love taking on these roles though!  And I’ve always been really good at organizing, so it’s the perfect job for me! (Plus, I love school, so keeping up with Noah’s stuff allows me to live vicariously through him! haha!) Walmart Family Mobile Phones

Is your family ready for back to school?  My stepson started his sophomore year on Wednesday.  As we get ready to send him off to school and after school activities, I can’t help but think about how things have changed since I was in school.  Way back in the late 90s very few high school kids had cell phones, and just getting to borrow your parent’s cell phone on a Friday night could make you the envy of all your friends!

Nowadays everything has changed!  Not only is it automatically assumed that you, the parents, have cell phones, but most of the kids have had their own cell phones since junior high. [Read more…]

Building Muscle with EAS

The fall season is almost upon us, but that doesn’t mean we have to let our summer health and fitness routines fall by the wayside.  Didn’t have a summer health and fitness routine?  Well, in that case, the fall season is a great time to start one!

My husband and I are both at a good weight and are in fairly good health.  In my case,  I’m in my early 30s (and holding).  I’ve still got a lot of energy, and I’m fairly strong for my tiny size, if I do say so myself!  But I’m the Skinny Minnie who wants to be Mighty Mouse! Haha!  My husband and I are always working on DIY projects, and I hate it when we get to the parts where I can’t help!

As for my husband, he’s getting ready to turn the big 4-0.  He was actually very sick a few months ago.  And although, he’s mostly recovered, he lost a lot of his muscle strength, and he also struggles with neuropathy, which sometimes keeps him down. He’s always been an active person, and he loves working and fixing things, so I definitely want him to get back in shape, so he can do activities he loves!

Regardless of your age, size, fitness level, and situation, I believe the right supplements and fitness products are a MUST if you really want to get serious about your health and/or fitness levels!  With 42 grams of protein and 24 vitamins and minerals, EAS Myoplex Ready to Drink Shakes are a great choice to help you build muscle and strength.
