2012 Holiday Gift Guide: Shop Owners, Reserve Your Spot
Are you thinking about the holiday season yet? How about now??
With the end of October in sight, it’s time to start planning my Thanksgiving and Christmas line up, and this means sharing yummy treats, fun decor, and of course great gift ideas! If you have an Etsy shop or other online business, I’d love to spotlight you and your products!
I’ll be taking resevations for product reviews and giveaways, and I’ll also be offering ad space and general spotlight posts. And all sponsors will also be promoted on the social networks!
To reserve your spot, please fill out this form or just email me. And I’ll get back to you with more details!
Also, while I’m in “announcing mode” I want to go ahead and tell you that I’m in the process of making plans for the 2012 Holly Bloggy Christmas event! Dates and details will be announced late in November, but I wanted to go ahead and mention it, because I will be coordinating a giveaway on my blog for that event, and I may be lining up a giveaway for some of the other sponsors as well. The event was hugely successful last year, so if you’d like to sponsor, I’d love to have you!

Banana Bundt Cake
Fall is such a great time for apple, pumpkin, and other fruit-based desserts. A couple of weeks ago, my mom made this fantastic Banana Bundt Cake, which I immediately had to try out myself. You’ll love it, because it’s very sweet and moist, and it’s also super easy! And did I mention that one of the ingredients is a cake mix? Yeah!
Chocolate Footballs and Other Nostalgic Candies
I know this will completely shock everyone, but I’ve got a real sweet tooth and love candy! I often think about candies I used to eat when I was a kid, which either aren’t available any more or else are very hard to find. This includes chocolate footballs, Sixlets, candy cigarettes, chocolate coins, Chick-o-sticks, and Zotz, just a name a few.
In fact, every time I go to a little grocery store or gas station, I always look to see if I can find any of these, especially the chocolate footballs. Shortly after I met my husband, we stopped in at a gas station to get drinks, on our way to eat dinner and hang out with friends, when suddenly I found this box of chocolate footballs. It was the first time I’d seen them in years, and I freaked out with excitement. This was fairly early in our relationship, and he could not believe I’d get this excited over candy. I immediately grabbed a couple of handfuls and asked him to get them for me.
I haven’t found the chocolate footballs since then, so I was thrilled when I found them over at Blair Candy. This site has a fabulous selection of bulk candy as well as regular size containers of candy. Their stock includes popular favorites like Reese Cups and Snickers, as well as novelty candies like gummy hamburgers and candies in fun containers, and nostaglic candy like my chocolate footballs, Coconut Long Boys, Boston Baked Beans, and even wax lips!
Go over and visit Blair Candy and place your orders for Halloween. And don’t forget to enter the code: GHOST at check out to get 10% off your order.

Tech Lovers Christmas Event
Fall Leaf Art
I love the fall season! Other than perhaps Christmas, it’s my favorite time of year. And the blogosphere (and Pinterest) have showed me so many different possibilities for fall decor, which makes the season even more fun!
Today I’m sharing a tutorial for a very simple fall craft. This could be used for all art, or leaned up on a plate holder and placed on your mantel or Thanksgiving buffet, such as a I show here. And as with most of my projects, it’s very budget friendly! [Read more…]
